2008 Jr A

Nationals in Marlboro MA

Everyone affiliated with the WSHL should be proud of our two teams that attended the National Championship series.  Both Phoenix and El Paso finished the round robin winning 2 and loosing 1.  Both teams were extremely competitive on the ice, and by far the 2 most professionally organized teams there.  Our teams looked good on the ice and looked great off the ice.  The players earned great respect from the teams they played and the USA Hockey personnel that were at the event.  I can't tell you how many times people approached me, whether they were spectators from other areas, college scouts, rink employees complimenting the WSHL on its players behavior, sportsmanship, etc.  The wife of the coach for the NJ Hitman who Phoenix played twice sought me out to tell me what great young men they were as she was staying in the same hotel with the Phoenix team and she has two younger boys who hung out with the Phoenix players at the hotel.

The results will serve the WSHL well in the year to come.

As we plan for next season I need all of you to re-send me your tryout dates so that I can finish our ad for the Jr. Hockey magazine. Please send that to me by Friday of this week.  If you add more later, just get me the info.

I will place our ad by Monday morning.

Our annual meeting plans are set.  Below is the hotel information, please make your own room reservations.  I advise you to do it asap.

We potentially have a couple of new members for the coming season, although we have not received applications or deposits yet.

Enjoy the next month without hockey, because it will be upon us sooner than we think.
